Pool Rules

YMCA of Corsicana Pool Rules: Our number one priority is safety! To ensure the safety and comfort of out members and guests, the following rules will be strictly enforced. The lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules. 

  1. Posted pool rules must be followed at all times.
  2. A YMCA certified lifeguard must be on duty for the pool to be open.
  3. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. 
  4. Children under 15 years of age must have supervision by a parent/guardian at all times in the pool area. 
  5. Non-Swimmers shorter than chest deep in the shallow water or 6 years or under must be within arm's reach of a parent or wear a lifejacket at all times. 
  6. Breath holding acitivities are not allowed in the pool.
  7. Diving in water less than 9 feet is prohibited. Front dives only.
  8. Only US Coast Guard approved personal flotaion devices are permitted in the pool. The Lifeguard may restrict the use of the pool toys and/or equipment at any time. Inflatable devices are not allowed in the pool.
  9. Swim tests are given to all youth under 17. Colored wrist bands will be assigned to swimmer, to mark their swim abilities. Non-Swimmers are not allowed in the deep end of the pool.
  10. No running, pushing, or rough play is permitted on the pool deck.
  11. The Y is a family facility. The use of profane or vulgur language or disrespect of staff, members or guests will not be tolerated. 
  12. Food or refreshments may be consumed only in designated areas. Food or refreshments are not permitted in the pool area.
  13. Do not enter the pool if you have open blisters, cuts, infections, or have had diarrhea in the past two weeks. 
  14. Photography is not permitted in the pool area or anywhere within the facility without prior, expressed persmission. 
  15. Smoking or vaping is not permitted anywhere in the facility, buildings, grounds, or parking lot. 
  16. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages/drug are not allowed on or around the YMCA facility.
  17. When thunder/lightening is present, the pool must be closed for 30 minutes are the last thunder/lightening is present. 
  18. Lifeguards have the final say!
